The new cereal contains 8 grams of protein per serving and combines the Honey Nut Cheerios flavor with the Cheerios Protein product platform.

As part of the launch, Cheerios is releasing a limited-edition "Honey Nuts For You" blind-box ring collection featuring four ring designs inspired by the product and the brand's mascot, Buzz. One design includes an 8K gold-plated ring inspired by the cereal's protein content.

The promotion also includes a partnership with reality television personality Ashley Iaconetti Haibon, who appears in marketing materials supporting the product launch.

“At Cheerios, we are always looking at how we can innovate by solving problems and delivering joy to consumers. For decades, Honey Nut Cheerios and Buzz have provided spoonfuls of joy to families everywhere, and now with new Honey Nut Cheerios Protein, they'll have another delicious reason to fall for a familiar favorite — with 8g of Protein in every serving,” said Emilie Knox, Vice President and Business Unit Director for Cheerios at General Mills.

“You could say I know a thing or two about searching for the one, and when you finally find it, you never let it go. Honey Nut Cheerios has been a staple in my pantry for as long as I can remember. It’s a nostalgic taste that instantly takes me back, and now Honey Nut Cheerios Protein brings that same comfort with a little extra protein boost to help me and my family take on whatever the day has in store,” said Iaconetti Haibon.

Consumers will be able to purchase a limited-edition bundle containing a surprise ring and a box of Honey Nut Cheerios Protein beginning June 23, with an additional release planned for June 30 while supplies last.

According to General Mills, the product launch will also be supported by a new advertising campaign across television, digital, and social media platforms.
