According to the company, the flavours draw inspiration from cuisines of participating nations and will be available at grocery and retail locations across Canada beginning mid-May, while supplies last.
As part of the Canadian release, Lay’s packaging will feature international soccer figures Thierry Henry, Lionel Messi, and Sir David Beckham, alongside Canada Soccer Men’s National Team players Richie Laryea and Nathan Saliba. Canada is the only global market where soccer players appear on Lay’s packaging for this campaign.
“FIFA World Cup 2026 is a once-in-a-generation moment for Canadian soccer fans, and Lay’s wanted to mark it with something just as special. These limited-edition flavours are our way of bringing the spirit of the tournament to every snack bowl, every watch party, and every fan gathering from coast to coast. These bags are something only Canadian fans get to experience - world-renowned soccer icons on-pack, each paired with a flavour that brings their nation's taste to life. More than just a snack, it's a collectible piece of a truly historic sporting moment – and we couldn’t be prouder to bring it home,” said Shirley Mukerjea, Chief Marketing Officer, Lay’s Canada.
The four flavours available in Canada include:
Lay’s® Bacon Poutine flavoured potato chips, featuring Richie Laryea and Nathan Saliba, inspired by Canada’s poutine.
Lay’s® Cheese Soufflé flavoured potato chips, inspired by French cuisine.
Lay’s® Steak & Chimichurri flavoured potato chips, inspired by Argentine flavours.
Lay’s® Cheese & Onion flavoured potato chips, inspired by a popular flavour in the United Kingdom.
The launch is part of Lay’s global “No Lay’s, No Game” platform tied to the FIFA World Cup 2026™. The company is also promoting a Canadian contest offering a chance to win tickets to tournament matches in Toronto and Vancouver, along with additional prizes.
Lay’s stated that the limited-edition flavours will be available nationwide beginning mid-May.
