OAKLAND, Calif., July 15, 2026, (WHERE & WHAT TO EAT) — Financial technology company Square announced that Honolulu Cookie Company has expanded its use of the company's unified commerce platform across its retail operations as the Hawaii-based brand continues its multi-location growth.
Honolulu Cookie Company has used Square since 2023 and now operates the platform across 14 locations in Oahu, Maui, Las Vegas and Guam. The expansion comes ahead of the opening of the company's new flagship store, Honolulu Cookie Company: The Aloha Experience, in Las Vegas this month.
Founded in 1998 by Keith and Janet Sung, Honolulu Cookie Company is known for its pineapple-shaped shortbread cookies inspired by Hawaiian flavors. The company said its cookies continue to be baked in Hawaii while its retail footprint has expanded through company-owned stores, wholesale distribution and pop-up locations in Japan.
According to Square, the company replaced its previous point-of-sale system with an integrated platform that includes Square for Retail, Square Register, Square Loyalty and Square Customer Directory, providing centralized reporting, customer insights and inventory management across multiple locations.
“As we grew across markets, we needed a partner who could help us expand our footprint and modernize our service, while still preserving our commitment to sharing aloha spirit with our guests. Square’s platform adapts with us and protects what makes us special. What matters most to us is providing a seamless experience from the time they enter our store through check out. Square for Retail gives us the confidence that it will be, whether that’s in Oahu, Las Vegas, or wherever we go next,” said Julie Plant, Vice President of Retail at Honolulu Cookie Company.
According to the company, the Las Vegas flagship will introduce expanded Build Your Own Box offerings, an interactive chocolate-dipping experience, a virtual look inside the company's bakery operations and themed photo areas.
“Honolulu Cookie Company has built a brand that people travel to experience – and that kind of connection doesn’t happen by accident. From high-volume checkout to real-time reporting and customer data, Square gives their team the operational foundation to deepen their customer connections at every location, every day,” said Nick Molnar, Global Head of Sales and Marketing at Block.
