ATLANTA, October 20, 2025 (WHERE & WHAT TO EAT) — Beverage company The Coca-Cola Company has announced the election of Max Levchin, co-founder of PayPal and founder and CEO of financial technology company Affirm, to its board of directors.

Levchin, 50, is recognized for his background in technology and entrepreneurship. He co-founded Confinity in 1998, which later evolved into PayPal, where he served as Chief Technology Officer until the company’s acquisition by eBay in 2002. Levchin later launched Slide, a personal media-sharing platform acquired by Google in 2010, and subsequently founded HVF (Hard Valuable Fun), an innovation lab that led to the creation of Affirm in 2012. Affirm became a publicly traded company in 2021.

“Max has a tremendous background in technology, including the development and growth of successful companies. He will bring great perspectives to Coca-Cola as technology continues to reshape the way we do business,” said James Quincey, Chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company.

Levchin has served on the boards of several technology companies, including Yelp Inc. and Yahoo! Inc. He was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and moved to the United States in 1991. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
